The Northern Schools District will play host to the best Under 12 Rugby talent in Queensland this week as teams from all over the state touch down in Townsville on Wednesday ahead of the four day tournament. The Tournaments opening ceremony will be held at Mike Carney Toyota Park at 8:45am Thursday morning (1st Aug) ahead of games kicking off at 9:30am.
The Northern Under 12s side will face off against Country rivals Capricornia (Central Qld) first up at 9:30am ahead of their 2nd pool match against South Coast at 11:30am. Friday will see them play their final pool matches against Met North (9:30am) and Met East (1pm).
The side features a host of talent from the TDRU Competition including Under 12 Player of the Competition Beau McCarron (Brothers) with a number of players also fresh from the Junior Brolgas Club State Titles in Toowoomba. Coach Chris Finlay (Cathedral School) will hope some of the squads recent experience against the other regions will benefit them come Thursday morning.
The finals will take place on Saturday and Sunday (3rd & 4th of Aug) at the Sports Reserve with Mike Carney Toyota Park hosting TDRU Semi Final weekend. Full draw, Squad and info below.
