Townsville Senior 7s nominations are now OPEN, and the hallmark event on the 7s calendar is set to finish the Townsville Festival of 7s with a bang. With over $10k in cash and prizes available for teams across the 3 divisions the standard is expected to be better than ever. Held on the same weekend as the Rugby World Cup final and with a meet & greet in the works Friday night as well as a World Cup final party on the Saturday evening the tournament will take on a strong social flavour as well.
Despite this unique social atmosphere accustomed to a country 7s tournament – there will be keen eyes on North Queensland talent! In 2018 two players were selected from the Townsville 7s to feature in the National 7s Tournament in Brisbane for Queensland (Sam Warner and Tom Vinson). This proves the Townville 7s as not only a great weekend for rugby fans and players alike but also as a legitimate pathway for higher honours. Make sure you get your teams together sooner rather than later with positions expected to be filled!
