Under 19’s
The final game for the Conrad Gargett Under 19’s was against Gold Coast with the boys looking to finish their 2019 Queensland Country rugby campaign on a high. The Brolgas couldn’t have got off to a better start when half back Harry Willocks took a daring run from the back of the ruck to run 60 metres to score a try under the posts. From this moment on the Brolgas were put under the pump by the Gold Coast boys who ran in 25 points before the midway point of the second half. In true Brolga spirit, the boys dug deep to push all the way to the end of the match scoring a final try through hooker Ronnie Berryman. This defeat saw the 19’s boys finish their campaign with 1 win and 3 defeats.

Men’s:
Much like the Under 19’s, the Zambrero Men’s side were looking to finish their campaign on a high and were still a chance to top the competition with a big win against the Gold Coast. With a number of players vying for further representative honours, the Brolgas put on a clinical performance in front of their home crowd. The Brolga men got off to the perfect start with winger Nick Poole collecting his third intercept try in as many weeks to give his side the momentum early. A second half try to crowd favourite Dan Withers all but sealed a big victory for the Brolgas before inside centre Tom Wells swooped on a loose pass to scoot away and score a try to put the icing on the cake. The final score saw the Zambrero Men’s Brolgas prevail 52-19 winners finishing their 2019 Queensland Country Rugby campaign with 3 wins and 1 loss.
