Over the last 3 days two of the Queensland Reds brightest stars visited Townsville as a part of the Reds to Regions initiative. Angus Scott-Young and Tuaina Tualima took some time out of their schedule to travel around Townsville, promoting the game they play in Heaven. We’d like to thank all of those involved over the last few days who made this visit possible; Host Families, Schools, Legacy Townsville, Brothers, Grammar and the Queensland Reds.
Monday saw Angus and Tuaina arrive in Townsville, they underwent some pre-season training before heading home with their billets. Tuaina with the Laskey Family and Angus with the Watson Family.
Tuesday saw the boys head out with Legacy to do some charity work around Townsville. Legacy has the aim of caring for the dependents of deceased Australian service men and women. Following this Angus and Tuaina attended Bluewater State School where they joined Development Staff Blair Morgan and Jack Andreassen to assist in running the Sporting Schools Program before running their Under 9 Rugby team through their paces.

Tuesday night saw local club Brothers Rugby Union host a dinner for Angus and Tuaina at Molly Malones Irish Pub on Flinders Street. The boys exchanged stories with the Brothers faithful before there was a jersey presentation with Brothers A-Grade Coach Shane Laskey.

Wednesday saw Tuaina head out with Jack to St Anthony’s Primary School to help run the TDRU’s Rugby Education Program. The kids had a ball, with Tuaina sharing his knowledge around tackling before finishing off with a few games of rugby rover. Angus on the other hand travelled with Blair out to St Clares Primary School where the boys spent an hour with the schools rugby kids, re-visiting the laws around the breakdown with a Q and A session. Following this they went to Grammar North Shore where they ran sessions for their Preps to Grade 2s. Following the sessions Angus presented the school with a Queensland Reds jersey in return for a Grammar Rugby Jersey.
