On being selected in the Townsville & District Junior Rugby Union U12/U13/U14/U16 team to tour to the Queensland Rugby Union Junior State Championships in Toowoomba held from Friday 2nd July – Sunday 4th July. The purpose of the carnival is to provide a pathway for players from around the state to represent their region with the Under 13s, 14s and 16s playing for a chance to be selected for Queensland Country following the carnival. The group will travel via Bus departing Townsville on Tuesday the 29th June and arriving in Toowoomba on Wednesday the 30th June. Following the tournament, the teams will be departing on Sunday afternoon at the conclusion of the matches arriving back in Townsville on Monday the 5th of July (Townsville Show Holiday). A full tournament itinerary will be distributed before the end of May.
The cost of these Championships will be Approximately $950per player, which will include:
- Bus Transport from Townsville to Toowoomba & return
- Bus Transport to and from accommodation to Tournament Venue & return each day
- Meals (excluding Travel Meals)
- Gear – Training Shirt, Playing Jersey, Shorts, Socks, Jumper and Backpack
- All training sessions and activities
- Accommodation for the duration of the tour
Payment: Non-refundable deposit of $250 due Sunday 16th May. Final payment due by Friday 21st of June. Payments can be made during office hours in person or over the phone at the TDRU office via eftpos/credit card or through an electronic funds transfer. It should be noted that it is compulsory for players to attend training. Should a player miss a total of 2 training sessions, then they will risk forfeiting their position in the team and be replaced by another player. If you cannot attend a training session, then you should ensure that your team manager or coach is advised accordingly as to the reasons why.
