Townsville and Districts Rugby faithful will have the chance rub shoulders with their Rugby heroes on Thursday the 25th of November at Mike Carney Toyota Park when the QRU’s Reds to Regions program hits town headlined by Wallabies and Reds players Lukhan Salakaia-Loto and Fraser McReight. This is following the massive success of the 2019 and 2020 Reds to Regions tours that also featured Salakaia-Loto as well as James O’Connor, Tuaiana Tualima and Angus Scott-Young.
McReight and Salakaia-Loto arrive Wednesday morning before heading north to Ingham whilst youngsters Mac Grealy and Illiasa Droasese will head west towards Charters Towers then south to the Burdekin alongside Vintage Red – Elton Flately. Townsville will also welcome Reds Attack Coach Jim McKay and former Reds and Wallaby Captain James Horwill.
Salakaia-Loto is a current Wallabies regular who is on a rest period from national duty after the birth of his first child. Whilst McReight is widley tipped to be Michael Hoopers long term replacement in the Wallaby 7 jersey after burtsing onto the scene as part of an extremely successful Aussie Under 20s world cup a few years ago.
The Junior clinic in Townsville is expected to be well attended with Reds attack coach McKay to run a Coaching Masterclass session concurrently for local coaches.
