Established in 1968, the Townsville and District Rugby Union has been a reputable organization in the North Queensland community for over 50 years.
The Townsville and District Rugby Union comprises of over 3000 registered players in our local junior and senior competitions across 10 different clubs. The TDRU oversee the development of the game at a grassroots level through various programs as well as the implementation of Representative Rugby.

“To provide a complete rugby umbrella for all persons from juniors to golden oldies, in a way that the community recognizes the Townsville & District Rugby Union as the leading sporting association in their region.”
Operations
Townsville & District Rugby Union Inc. is managed on a day to day basis by staff who work from Mike Carney Toyota Park, our home grounds. The operation of the organisation is overseen by the management committee, who are elected at the Annual General Meeting.
