The Battle for North QLD Rugby supremacy will be in full swing this Sunday when Rugby heavyweights Townsville Brolgas and FNQ Thunder (Cairns) battle it out in three junior divisions as well as Under 19’s, Womens and Senior Men’s.
The Junior Brolgas Under 13s, 14s and 16s will head North to Cairns this Sunday, the 1st of September to play as curtain raisers to the Brolgas vs Thunder Senior QLD Country Championship matches (Under 19s & Men’s). The Festival of Rugby held at Stan Williams Park in Cairns will also feature the Brolgas Senior Women’s team facing off against FNQ in a one-off match kick starting their Senior Rep Programs for the Townsville Brolgas.
The Brolgas will then welcome FNQ Juniors to Townsville in two weeks’ time to play at Mike Carney Toyota Park the Home of Rugby in Townsville on Saturday the 14th of September. These matches will be the precursor to the Senior Brolgas only home game of the QLD Country Championships facing off against the Gold Coast in a mouth-watering clash.
